Krista Smith
Issue date: 3/16/10 Section: Feature
Executive Cabinet Candidates
Presidential Candidate
Name: Cooper Henderson
Hometown: Moab, Utah
Major: Economics
Junior
Campaign slogan:
?Knowledge is Cool
Reason for running:
?After a year in the ASWC Senate I am thrilled to build on the legacy and accomplishments of our current President Brody Leven.
What is the biggest problem you see at Westminster?
?I see confusion and lack of awareness regarding our Opportunity Fund, money set aside to help students attend academic conferences and pursue service missions.
As an elected member of the ASWC legislature or cabinet, what change are you hoping to create on campus?
?As a Senator, I helped quadruple the amount of funds placed in our Opportunity Fund. If elected President, I will continue to promote this vital resource for every student.
Tell Westminster students why they should vote for you.
?If elected, my running mate Demetri Coombs and I will always be approachable to our employer, the students of Westminster College. Demetri and I promise to listen to what students want and need from student government, but more importantly we will create a culture of accountability. If we screw up, you can and should let us know because we will never be personally offended or angry and will work hard to fix the problem. Please vote for Henderson & Coombs so that we can all maximize the potential of ASWC.
Vice Presidential Candidates
Name: Karl E. Gerner
Hometown: Burnt Hills, New York
Major: Economics Pre-Law
Sophomore
Campaign slogan:
Let K.E.G. STAND up for you
Reason for running:
?I am passionate about enriching the experience of others at Westminster. I have had an amazing experience here, and I wish to allow others the same opportunity. I care deeply about the success of ASWC as an organization and Westminster College as an institution.
